JOHANNESBURG – February 24, 2016 – Konica Minolta South Africa, a division of Bidvest Office (Pty) Ltd, has extended its document and content management services by partnering with Hyland Software and adding OnBase, Hyland’s enterprise content management (ECM) software, to its value-added solutions.

This strategic local alliance, which mirrors the US relationship between the two companies, supports Konica Minolta South Africa’s strategy to enhance its current core content management competencies, strongly anchored in managed print services (MPS).

“As a business that has already assisted South African companies with document and content management for more than a decade, our agreement with Hyland will support Konica Minolta South Africa’s long-term strategy to extend its solution platform with the inclusion of ECM,” says Greg Griffith, business solutions product manager for Konica Minolta South Africa.

“ECM plays a vital role in helping companies to extract the content needed for improved decision-making. Gartner describes ECM as ‘a process, which enables organisations to create, store, distribute, archive, edit, secure, analyse and manage content and documents through the most efficient and effective way.’

“The research company further states that content services extend the typical managed print services (MPS) process of assessing, optimising and managing printers to the IT infrastructure on which printing stands, in order to enhance the way that documents and their associated content help companies to communicate and carry out their business processes.

“Already a trusted MPS partner to many local organisations with a well established, mature supply chain and service footprint, the addition of a high value, feature rich ECM solution like OnBase, which is easily customisable and can be integrated into line of business applications, to our arsenal is a natural extension of our existing strengths,” Griffith explains.

“The partnership with a strong local company like Konica Minolta South Africa is an exciting development for Hyland in South Africa and one that makes complete sense for both companies,” says Monique Williams, country manager at Hyland Software South Africa. “OnBase’s ability to capture and organise business content and integrate it with existing business systems and workflows and its excellent functionalities complement Konica Minolta South Africa’s business output management skills, delivering tremendous value to local companies and helping to provide them with new business insights.”
