Konica Minolta’s AccurioPress C6100 Gets ISO/PAS Certification

Konica Minolta South Africa, a division of Bidvest Office (Pty) Ltd, is pleased to announce that the AccurioPress C6100 digital colour press sold in South Africa is the first high-volume digital press to earn Idealliance ISO/PAS 15339 certification using dry toner electrophotographic printing technology.

The certification is an impressive achievement, as ISO/PAS 15339 (International Standards Organisation/Publicly Available Specifications) certification recognises digital press manufacturers whose products can consistently and accurately print colour spaces as per the CRPCs (Characterised Reference Printing Conditions) specifications of the Idealliance compliance programme.

To qualify for certification, print samples from the C6100 had to be delivered to the Rochester Institute of Technology for testing against six CRPC specifications. A report on the outcome of these stringent tests was then forwarded to Idealliance for ISO/PAS 15339 certification.

“The Konica Minolta AccurioPress C6100 was the world’s first electrophotographic press to achieve Idealliance ISO/PAS 15339 certification,” said Leon Minnie, manager of production print for Konica Minolta South Africa. “We are proud to be able to offer a press with world-leading certification offering industry-leading technology to the South African market.”

Timothy Baechle, CEO at Idealliance, said that what makes the AccurioPress C6100 extraordinary is that it is a four-colour electrophotographic press featuring front-end press technology using the unique Simitri® polymerised toner. “This enables it to cover a wide gamut of colours and to hold remarkably high tolerances over a print run,” he said.

The AccurioPress C6100 Digital Colour Press can produce an astounding 5 455 colour pages per hour. The press uses a fully automated, closed-loop quality management system to deliver superior colour quality and consistency, as well as accurate front-to-back registration. It offers true 1 200 x 1 200 dpi (dots per inch) resolution with eight-bit processing for smoother, more realistic colour images that rival offset printing at a fraction of the cost.

“This certification is another great benchmark for Konica Minolta,” added Minnie. “The craftsmanship we put into developing our technology and our dedication to serving our customers, is only achieved thanks to the support of our certified colour-management experts.”

“The certification from Idealliance underlines the value the AccurioPress C6100 offers for mid-volume and large commercial printers,” said Minnie. “Customers can be assured that their print runs will produce consistently flawless colour to the highest industry standards.”
