Konica Minolta South Africa, a division of Bidvest Office (Pty) Ltd, has launched Konica Minolta Legal, a solution that accurately and precisely allocates telephone and document output costs. The new solution reduces admin time and enhances value and efficiency for firms and clients, while ensuring full regulatory compliance.
“Konica Minolta Legal gives legal practitioners, law firms – and any organisation that bills for cost disbursements – a single application to recover all print/copy/fax, scan and telephone expenses,” said Mohammed Vachiat, product manager for software at Konica Minolta South Africa. “And it integrates easily with existing legal billing applications.”

Konica Minolta Legal means firms can monitor, measure and manage print and phone expenses, integrating directly into legal practice management systems like AJS, LegalSuite, Legal Interact Practice Manager, GhostPractice, Lawplan, Winlaw, Lexpro etc.
The software can generate pop-ups for relevant matter and project codes after every print job and phone call, ensuring effective, automated allocation every time. This improves recoveries and ensures optimal deployment of office equipment. It also allows controlled access to office machines and supplies.
No extra hardware required, interfacing seamlessly with existing Konica Minolta hardware and other brands of multifunctional devices and connecting directly with servers for simple PBX tracking. Firms can set standard price points or vary them according to users, clients, matters and projects.
The application provides extensive graphic reports, with detailed usage analytics and automated, scheduled emailing of reports in Excel, PDF or Word formats. Rules can be applied to limit users, devices and users are notified via pop-ups or emails with advice on duplex or black-and-white printing. Management are alerted when thresholds are met.
